What can I say about this book... other than the fact that it was literally LEGENDARY! I didn't think it would be possible, but I loved this one even more than the first in the series, which gave me super high hopes for the last read.
I really enjoyed the fact that this book was written from Tella's perspective and I was eager to see her and Dante's love story unfold, but I absolutely was not ready to see it crumble into pieces at the end. I wanted to know more about Paloma from the beginning, and when I found out that she was also trapped inside a card, I did wonder if she might turn out to be a Fate.
I'm not going to lie, I did have to Google what a Blackguard was, but once I knew, it made perfect sense! I lost my mind at the Prince of Hearts reveal, but it did confuse me a little when I found out that Tella was his 'one true love', because I couldn't understand why Jacks' kiss affected her at all if that was the case.
There were a couple of minor bugbears for me in this book purely because I notice the small things - 1. The book kept referring to 'The Satine District', but on the map it was called 'The Satine Quarter' and 2. Scarlett said to Tella "You think Julian and Legend are brothers" and I think Legend was supposed to be printed as Dante, so the whole Dante being Legend reveal was a little bit anticlimactic.
That being said, it was still a five-star read for me - the cliffhanger chapters made it so hard to put this book down and I desperately didn't want it to end, so I jumped straight into the final book of the trilogy after I finished it.
