I've heard great things about CoHo books, but it's taken me a while to actually get one read... and I don't know why I waited so long. I absolutely should have ventured into her novels sooner and the many amazing reviews she has received are well-deserved.
I really enjoyed the split chapters between Morgan and Clara which allowed the readers to experience the story from both points of view, and this book explored a number of different relationships, with their inevitable complications.
You're thrown straight into the drama after what seems like a handful of pages and the story builds from there - Morgan and Clara's worlds are torn apart by a sudden tragedy and things only seem to be getting worse as more details unfold, but this is truly a story about the fact you can make it through the worst of times, if you do it together.
This book was heart-breaking in the beginning, but heart-warming by the end. I only wish that the characters had been given more depth throughout the story and overall, the ending was a little bit predictable. Another slight issue that I had with this book, was the fact that the blurb contained a fairly big spoiler and it made me wish I hadn't read the back.
CoHo's writing itself was seamless and felt familiar, despite this being my first time enjoying her work and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of her books in the near future.
